§ 8-318. Conveyances from State, County and City.

  • The State of Georgia, County of Chatham or the City of Savannah, now or hereafter owning and holding any property necessary, desirable or convenient for the development, operation and maintenance of the port and harbor of the City of Savannah, in Chatham County, Georgia, is hereby authorized to grant, convey and deliver such property to the Savannah Port Authority with or without compensation, and the Savannah Port Authority is hereby authorized and empowered to accept and hold the title and possession of such property, and pay for same, when required, the fair value therefor.

    If the port authority shall deem it expedient to construct, operate or continue to operate any project heretofore acquired, or which it may seek to acquire, from the City of Savannah, Georgia, the Mayor and Aldermen of said city are hereby authorized to make such conveyance to the authority absolute, or to confirm as absolute any conveyance heretofore made to said authority, and, by appropriate resolution, to release and relieve said authority in whole or in part from the necessity of securing any concurrence, approval or ratification of its acts and doings with regard thereto.
